PURPOSE:To provide a pH sensor which can measure pH and the concentration of acids even in a nonaqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:The pH sensor is constituted of a pair of electrodes 2, 3 and a conductive layer 1 interposed between the electrodes 2 and 3. The conductive layer 1 is formed of a cyclic polymer wherein one or, two or more carbons of the aromatic ring of a ladder polymer or graphite is substituted with a group V element. For an example of the ladder polymer, an aromatic ring coupled in the shape of a ladder is used. Meanwhile, for the graphite, such one that is a parallel lamination of planes formed when aromatic rings are coupled in two dimensions is used. For a group V element, an element which has a lone pair, e.g. N, P, As or the like is used. The electrodes are obtained, for instance, by vapor-depositing Pt on the surface of a glass substrate. |
