MANUFACTURE OF METAL MAGNET POWDER

PURPOSE:To provide a method for manufacturing metal magnetic powder in which the powder having high magnetic characteristics is obtained by reducing residual sodium in the powder with spindle-shaped alpha-oxy-iron hydroxide as a starting material. CONSTITUTION:The method for manufacturing metal magnetic powder comprises the steps of heat treating molded alpha-oxy-iron hydroxide in a non-reducing atmosphere to alpha-iron oxide, then cleaning the alpha-iron oxide in shape as molded with water to remove sodium, then drying it and reducing it in a reducing atmosphere.
