Refrigerating apparatus on ships

The invention relates to a refrigerating apparatus on ships for cooling provisions and refrigerated cargo in refrigerated containers and in refrigerated holds which works with CFC-free refrigerants. The refrigeration is effected according to the absorption principle, the boiler being heated by steam or hot water. This steam or the hot water is generated from the exhaust heat of the main and auxiliary diesel. Cold is required on all ships for the storage of provisions. On refrigerated ships the cold is required for cooling plus cargo (fruit, vegetables) and minus cargo (fish, meat, dairy products). On refrigerated container ships the cold is required for cooling insulated containers which are connected to on-board air-cooling systems.
