The invention relates to a device for blowing superfluous coating material off during the continuous coating of metal strip, especially in the galvanisation of steel strip, said device comprising a pair of blow-off nozzles having nozzle bodies (2) to which a blow-agent, especially compressed air, can be applied, between which the metal strip (1) is guided at a distance from the nozzle gaps (3) extending transversely to the direction of movement of the strip. In order to improve the central arrangement of the metal strip between the nozzle bodies (2), at least one of the two nozzle bodies (2), which are adjustable in relation to the metal strip, carries an optical measuring device (4a, 4b) which can move parallel to the nozzle gap (3) and covers at least the region of one edge K of the metal strip (1) and the opposite nozzle body has a reflector on which the optical axis of the measuring device (4a, 4b) is directed when it is outside the edge of the metal strip. |
