PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer printer easy for use whereby a characteristic of a paper to be used is not limited, good recording image can be obtained even when a low cost rough paper is used and the print is performed at a low cost even when overlapping printing of ink by plural times to form a recorded image as a color image. CONSTITUTION:This device comprises a thermal transfer recording medium 1 consisting of a base material and an ink layer laminated with a first ink layer and a second ink layer, a thermal head 7 that selectively heats the thermal transfer recording medium 1 based on an image signal, a heating means that transfers a part of the ink layer of the thermal transfer recording medium 1 corresponding to the heated part and a peeling member 9 that peels a recording paper 5 from the thermal transfer recording medium 1. |
