PURPOSE:To obtain a mat, comprising a TATAMI facing itself having high antimicrobial and deodorizing effects and excellent light resisting function and capable of providing comfortableness without requiring any labor by users. CONSTITUTION:This mat is obtained by forming a coating layer containing ceramics consisting essentially of a metallic oxide or its composite material with a synthetic resin and silver ions or copper ions on at least the surface of a TATAMI facing. The metallic oxide is composed of one or two or more materials selected from Si02, Al2O3, TiO2 and ZrO2. The TATAMI facing material before weaving is immersed in a solution containing the superfine particulate ceramics and silver ions or copper ions, dried and then woven to produce the mat. |
