PURPOSE:To prevent a head from heating up and to reduce a print waiting time. CONSTITUTION:A thermister 25 is attached to a thermal head 15. A temperature signal of the thermal head 15 detected by the thermister 25 is transmitted to a differential amplifier 27 via a voltage conversion circuit 26 and the difference between the detected value and a specified temperature is outputted as temperature data. In accordance with the temperature data, a fan speed setting circuit 30 controls a rotation speed of a motor 32 via a motor driver 31. The higher the temperature becomes, the faster a cooling fan 20 rotates to blow greater amount of air to the thermal head 15. When the temperature data becomes lower than the specified temperature, the rotation of the cooling fan 20 is stopped. |
