<p>PURPOSE:To cool a stator by communicating the inside of a pair of external members on the right and left and a pair of expandable boots mutually through an air passage in a brushless motor and a steering shaft, and utilizing the air feeding action due to expansion and shrinkage of each boot. CONSTITUTION:A cooling device cools a brushless motor 6 which is provided in the intermediate section of a steering shaft 1. In this case, a plural number of housings 13, 20 which are connected to the brushless motor 6 and mounted on the steering shaft 1 are provided. On the other hand, the other ends of a pair of expandable boots 22, 24 which are connected to each housing 13, 20 are connected to a plural number of tie rods 23, 25. The inside of each boot 22, 24, each housing 13,20, and the brushless motor 6 is communicated mutually through an air passage. Also, a power element 17 for driving the brushless motor 6 is provided in the air passage. Consequently, a stator 12 and the power element 17 are cooled by utilizing the air feeding action due to expansion and shrinkage of each boot 22, 24.</p> |
