PURPOSE:To provide an array type ultrasonic probe device having good vibration characteristics even after formation of an acoustic matching layer by forming the grooves of the acoustic matching layers and ultrasonic vibrator transducers in at least one of plural unit arrays from the acoustic matching layers down to the positions reaching the inside of the ultrasonic vibrator transducers and packing a packing material into these grooves. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric ceramics is used as the ultrasonic vibrator transducers, an epoxy resin as the acoustic matching layers 14 and another epoxy resin different from the epoxy resin to be used for the acoustic matching layers 14 as the packing material 13. The grooves 17A of 80% of the thickness size of the ultrasonic vibrator transducers are formed in two directions on the acoustic radiation surfaces of the ultrasonic vibrator transducers and the epoxy resin is packed in the grooves 17A. The acoustic matching layers 14 are arranged on the acoustic surfaces and further, the epoxy resin is packed into the grooves 17B of the acoustic matching layers and into the spacings thereof. |
