An adsorption device (1) including a cartridge (20) consisting of at least one substantially leakproof side wall (23) resting on a porous bottom (22) containing an adsorbent bed, a means for adsorbing gas (2). The manufacture of the means of adsorption (1) includes the following stages: - introduction of at least one expanded polymeric material (33), an active material (32) in pulverulent form, water and an agglutinating substance into a leakproof and confined receptacle; - stirring of the said receptacle; -withdrawal from the receptacle of the combination made up of the expanded polymeric material (33), the active material (32), the water and the agglutinating substance. It may be suitable for a plant for sanitisation of water polluted by adsorption of desorbed undesirable gases. <IMAGE>
