PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a worker and to simplify the control of a dosemeter by combining a dosemeter different in form for backing up a thermal fluorescence dosemeter with an immediate type portable dosemeter using a semiconductor. CONSTITUTION:For example, a thermal fluorescence dosemeter 2 being a reading type portable dosemeter is integrally incorporated in a semiconductor type dosemeter 1 being an immdediate type portable dosemeter to constitute a composite portable dosemeter. Usually, as the radiation dose at the time of the retreat from a radiation handling area, the read value of the semiconductor type dosemeter 1 being the immediate type portable dosemeter is employed but, when the value of the semiconductor type dosemeter 1 is not read because of the trouble of the dosemeter 1, the read data of the nonimmediate type thermal fluorescent dosemeter 2 is used. That is, the exposure dose of the dosemeter 2 for backing up the dosemeter 1 is read by an exclusive reading device. By integrally combining two kinds of the dosemeters 1, 2, the load of a worker is reduced and control can be made easy.
