<p>PURPOSE: To provide an improved manual transmission having a support installed on a shaft for keeping a distance between rotating shafts constant. CONSTITUTION: This gear transmission driven by an engine has a mainshaft 36, a countershaft 58, a transmission casing 18 having a bearing support structure separated in the axial direction, meshing gear elements 28, 48, 50, 52, 54, 66, 70, 74, 80 installed on the mainshaft 36 and the countershaft 58 for forming a torque passage and a support 166 having first and second bearing openings 168, 170. The mainshaft 36 and the countershaft 58 extend through the bearing openings 168, 170, and the mainshaft 36 and the countershaft 58 are supported thereby in the middle of both ends of these, so that though separating force of teeth of a gear acts in the lateral direction with respect to the shafts, the center distance between the mainshaft 36 and the countershaft 58 is held equally to the center distance between meshing gears.</p> |
