PURPOSE: To easily mold a shaft assembly by setting a tubular shell-shaped part having a plurality of molding opening gates formed thereto at a corresponding position forming a pulley or the like to a mold and injecting a molding material into a cavity from the hollow part thereof through the gates. CONSTITUTION: In a copier, when a shaft assembly forming one of the constitutional parts of a paper feeder comprising two sets of rolls forming a paper feed nip is produced, at first, a plurality of molding opening gates and spiral slits 28 provided to the positions approaching both sides of these gates are formed to a part of an elongated member 29 by laser processing. The hollow tubular shell-shaped part 30 thus obtained is housed in a mold 35 having cavities 36, 37 for molding a pulley 28 and a support 39 for an O-ring 40 and the mold 35 is subsequently closed to inject a molding material from a nozzle 41. The cavities 36, 37 are filled with the molding material through the inner surface 42 of a hollow pipe and the molding opening gates to mold a shaft assembly. |
