PURPOSE:To allow traveling on an appropriate route while avoiding snarl-up by superposing the vehicle position on a map image produced based on received data. CONSTITUTION:An FM multichannel broadcasting station 1-i broadcasts geographic data of map described by a mapping data on multichannels. In an on-board FM multichannel broadcasting/receiving system 10, a vehicle position detector 22 detects vehicle position and a data decoding circuit 19 decodes the received data which is classified by a decoder 20 for every service and stored in a memory 21. When an operating section 23 selects a convenient map, a controller 26 inputs a corresponding mapping data and a section 26c converts the geographic data into a vehicle position on a map image described by the mapping data thus determining a vehicle position marking point. A describing section 26d describes a map image on a video RAM 26e based on the mapping data along with the vehicle position mark. The image described on the video RAM 26e is presented on a display 25. |
