Apparatus for controlling a linear detector with time delay and integration (TDI) having at least one controlled parameter, apparatus including: at least two auxiliary detectors (22) having parameter values at least slightly lower and slightly greater than that of the controlled parameters, of which there is at least one; and at least one control system (24 or 26 or 28) which controls the value of the controlled parameters, of which there is at least one, on the basis of the difference of the quality function of the output signals from the auxiliary detectors (22) of which there are at least two.
