MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability by keeping the magnitude of the coercive force of hexagonal tabular barium ferrite powder and cobalt-coated iron oxide powder within a range of + or -10%. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer consisting of hexagonal tabular barium ferrite powder and cobalt-coated iron oxide powder and a bonding agent is formed on a base material. The magnitude of the coercive force of hexagonal tabular barium ferrite powder and cobalt-coated iron oxide powder is kept mutually within a range of + or -10%. Either of barium ferrite powder or cobalt-coated iron oxide powder may be used as a reference as the magnitude of coercive force at that time. When the difference of the magnitude of both coercive force is larger than 10%, it is not favorable because a noise level rises too much.
