MONITOR SYSTEM USING ELECTRONIC MAIL

摘要

PURPOSE:To monitor the state of the system at an electronic mail terminal by using electronic mail suitable for monitoring the state of a host computer through the electronic mail terminal. CONSTITUTION:Working state information request mail is transmitted from the mail terminal connected to an electronic mail system 2 constituted on a first computer system 1 to the electronic mail system 2 so as to request the report of the working states of a second computer system and a related facility connected to the second computer system. This electronic mail system 2 transmits the received working state report request mail to the second computer system, and the working states of the second computer system and the related facility connected to the second computer system are transmitted through the electronic mail system 2 to the mail terminal as state information mail. This monitor system uses such electronic mail.
