Proceeding from a method for the regeneration of particle filter systems for the exhaust gases of diesel internal combustion engines, it being possible to operate a burner system for regeneration as a function of at least one parameter of the particle filter system and/or of the diesel internal combustion engine for burning off the soot particles deposited in at least one particle filter of the particle filter system, one parameter of the particle filter system, which can be influenced by at least one component of the burner system, being adjusted to a predetermined value, the object of the invention is achieved in that an adjustment range of the components is determined and a control device with at least one integral component performs the control as a function of the adjustment range determined. <IMAGE>
