PURPOSE:To improve flame resistance, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and weather resistance of artificial stone having appearance and texture of natural stone by filling a mold with a mixture of natural stone and acrylic binder resin, pressuring it with vibration under a state of vacuum, curing it with room temperature or heat, and polishing at least one surface of it. CONSTITUTION:A natural stone of 85-95wt.% and an acrylic binder resin of 5-15wt.% are mixed. A mold is filled with the mixture, which is pressured by vibration under a state of vacuum. The mold is cured by room temperature or heat so as to obtain a cured molded body. At least one face of it is polished. A device to be used for making the vibration and compression comprises a plurality of hydraulic cylinders 5 attached to a side wall 4 of a vacuum device. Piston rods 6 of the cylinders penetrate the side wall 4 airtightly, and one end of each of them is attached to a movable upper mold 2 of the mold 7. The hydraulic cylinders 5 make the piston rods 6 extend and contract, push down the upper mold 2 by adding vibration to it so as to compress the mixture 3. Accordingly, foams will not be housed. |
