Aerodynamic body-shell for train

The body-shell is divided into panels with pairs of symmetrically positioned panels (1,8) pre-pressed on the same mandril into three dimensional shapes. These are then cut to size and assembled on a shaped former to join into the shell. The complete shell is then offered up to the final support frame.The mandrils are prepared with simple machining and the former is adjustable to simulate different body shapes. The panels are cut with plasma cutters and are joined into the shape with or without stiffening ribs.
