The headgear, intended for a combat aircraft pilot, includes an nose-and-mouth respirator mask (30) which can be connected to a demand regulator and to a helmet having a shell (10) and a visor which can be moved with respect to the shell, by tilting about a pin (22), between a low position resting on the mask and a high position where it clears the eyes, the said visor being in the form of a spherical cap at least in the region which is placed in front of the eyes. The head gear moreover incudes a lower ferring (24) carrying the mask (30) which can be moved with respect to the shell (10) by tilting about the same pin (22) as that of the visor (18), passing through the centre of the spherical cap. <IMAGE>
