The line doubler apparatus includes an interpolator for checking an edge pattern of vertical, horizontal and diagonal directions of an input image signal and generating a signal used for interpolation, first and second time compressors for time-compressing the signal used for interpolation and the input image signal, and a switch for selectively generating output signals of the first and second time compressors, thereby improving picture quality of an entire image. |
