<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a tape recorder which provides a long-time play in addition to a cassette play by providing a couple of reel turntables taking up a 2nd magnetic tape outside the cassette unit body. CONSTITUTION:On chassis 1, normal open reels 6 are mounted on both sides of mount board 3 where a cassette is loaded and a couple of reel turntables 22 are also provided. Reel turntalbe 22, equipped with a required take-up mechanism including a motor, etc., coupled through a frictional mechanism, takes up magnetic tape 24 between a couple of open reels 23 mounted on reel turntables 22 in a recording and reproduction drive mode or quick traverse run mode corresponding to the selection of a operation button. Then, this reel axis 6 is normally used. For a long- time play, 2nd reel turntables 22, 22 are used to run tape 24, so that the same unit will provide the sufficiently-long play.</p> |
