<p>PURPOSE: To improve operation efficiency by, together with reducing temp. changes of adsorbing beds in pressured swing adsorption process(VSA process) using an adsorbent to elevate the nitrogen working capacity, reducing the relative amounts of oxygen left unrecovered on the active adsorbent phase. CONSTITUTION: The invention provides a process for selectively adsorbing nitrogen from a mixed gas contg. nitrogen and at least one gas excluding nitrogen having low adsorption than nitrogen. And the process for adsorptive separation consists of bringing the mixed gas into contact with a selective adsorbent of nitrogen in adsorbent zone, allowing nitrogen to be selectively adsorbed to the adsorbent and passing the other mixed gases having low adsorption out of the zone, and the adsorbent zone comprises a diluted adsorbent phase consisting of an active adsorbent having an isothermal nitrogen adsorption of at least about 0.6 millimoles/g and an insol. diluent of at least 5 wt.%.</p> |
