Material (I) contg. radiation-sensitive biomolecules (II) comprises an ionotropic gel formed from poly-electrolyte (III) contg. oriented (II).(III) is pref. natural or synthetic and has a filamentary mol. structure. Pref. (III) is a pectinate, arabonate or esp. Na alginate or a (co)polyacrylate or Na cellulose xanthate.(II) are pref. rhodopsin, chlorophyll or bacteriorhodopsin, pref. in the form of the purple membrane (PM).(I) pref. also contains an effector, e.g. vitamin A, and is in the form of a film or other moulding, pref. a film on a transparent support.
