PURPOSE: To adjust the position of a thermostat in an easy and reliable way by arranging the thermostat in a receiving device and fastening the receiving device in a cold-air duct by a welded connection. CONSTITUTION: A wax-sealed thermostat 40 is arranged substantially along the flowing direction of intake air in a cold-air duct. The thermostat 40 has a casing 41 and a drive pin 42. A longitudinal hole 45 is provided in the drive pin 42. A journal 46 of a control flap 11 is arranged in a swivellable manner. The casing 41 of the thermostat 40 is secured to an intake duct on a support surface 47 by ultrasonic welding or friction welding. The correct position of the thermostat with respect to the flap 11 is determined by moving the thermostat 40 along the intake duct 7 in the direction of an arrowhead 50 before welding. Thus, the manufacture of a control box made of plastics for controlling the temperature of intake air becomes extremely simple.
