<p>PURPOSE:To improve the water absorption performance of an absorbent used for an absorption refrigerator. CONSTITUTION:The absorbent is prepared by adding 2-8wt.% triethylene glycol or tetraethylene glycol to an aqueous lithium bromide solution. The critical crystallization temperature of the solution is lowered to suppress the crystallization, and the vapor pressure is lowered to increase a difference in the vapor pressure between an evaporator 1 and an absorber 2 and to improve the water absorption performance. Because the triethylene glycol or tetraethylene glycol as the additive has a high molecular weight, the rate of diffusion of the additive from a generator 3 into a condenser 4 becomes low, and therefore the deterioration of the performance due to the boiling point elevation caused by the contamination of the evaporator 1 with the additive can be prevented.</p> |
