The induction kiln, for drawing glass optic fibres, has an insulation composed of spaced concentric tubes of a material with high temp. resistance.The thin walled concentric tubes are of ZrO2 stabilised with yttrium. The tubes have longitudinal slits with an angular displacement between the slits of adjacent tubes.
