A central armrest (6) for a motor-vehicle rear seat, comprising an elongated body (7) provided at one end with a mounting structure (8) for a transverse pivot pin (10) supported by two back rest elements (3) spaced apart from each other so as to define a central recess (5). The armrest (6) is provided at the other end thereof with a headrest member (11) which is integrally formed with the elongated body (7) and is displaceable therewith, relative to the mounting structure (8) of the pivot pin (10), between a proximal condition and a distal condition.
