PURPOSE:To provide the driving method for a DC type gas discharge tube which can make bright gradation display and high-resolution display even if discharge cell current is diminished. CONSTITUTION:A driving circuit for controlling the discharge cell current flowing at the time of the discharge of a discharge cell by an accelerated discharge control signal is provided according to this driving method for the DC type plasma display. The changeover of the discharge cell current to the state of attaining a large peak value (i1+i2) in a discharge start period td, then the changeover of the discharge cell current to the state of the value (i1) smaller than the peak value in the discharge start period in the discharge duration period dw are enabled by this accelerated discharge control signal. |
