The device consists of a cylindrical body (1) whose ends may be connected to the ends of respective sections of an exhaust gas conduit by a simple push fit. A series of perforated fins (2) are stacked around the cylindrical body to diffuse heat from the body into an air flow passing around them.The cylindrical body and fins are enclosed in a cylindrical casing (3) to define a forced air flow over the fins. An inlet opening (5) is associated with a closed end plate of the casing for connection to a hot air extraction system. Air enters the other end of the casing via a filter element (4).
