PURPOSE:To establish a position estimating method for the waveform to be diagnosed, when one or a plurality of diagnostic points are present in one data, by detecting rough position of the waveform to be diagnosed basing on an arbitrary trigger outputted immediately before function of machine at the time of data sampling. CONSTITUTION:Sound produced from a machine 100 to be diagnosed is sampled by a microphone 211 and diagnosed by means of a sound diagnosis unit comprising a measurement data sampling section 210, a waveform feature extracting section 230, a waveform polyline approximating section 240, a waveform collating section 250, a waveform diagnostic section 260, a diagnostic result display section 270, etc. At the time of data sampling, an arbitrary trigger is outputted immediately before operation of the internal mechanism of the machine and appearing time of waveform to be diagnosed is estimated basing on the sampled data with reference to the appearing time of normal waveform at the point to be diagnosed. When easily collatable and not easily collatable patterns are present subsequently, easily collatable pattern is diagnosed first and the appearing time of not easily collatable pattern is estimated from the collating time of the easily collatable pattern. |
