PURPOSE:To allow a facsimile equipment to self-diagnose its print section printing out received data. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head driving section 5 outputs a driving signal corresponding to data from a test signal generating section 12 and a thermal head 10 receiving the driving signal prints out a character onto paper thermally. A temperature display section 9 detects a temperature generated from the thermal head 10. A comparison section 8 compares a signal from the temperature detection section with a reference value in a storage section 7 in the timing of a signal from the test signal generating section 12 and outputs a signal when the detection signal of the temperature detection section is small or not in presence. A control section 6 identifies abnormality in the thermal head based on the signal output from the comparison section and displays indication representing the fault onto a display section 13. |
