A pollution control device for cleaning up a body of water, in particular near beaches. The device includes a system (1) for skimming off and storing pollutants floating on the water surface. Said device is a jet ski (2), said skimming and storing system (1) includes at least two frames (7) arranged symmetrically on either side of the hull (3) of said jet ski (2), and said jet ski (2) is provided with a lifting device (4) for moving said skimming and storing system (1) between at least two separate positions, i.e. a first pollutant skimming position and a second transport position. Said skimming and storing system (1) is provided with a check valve (5) and said frames (7) are each provided with a curved member forming a false bow (14) in the skimming position.
