The cable car is suspended (2) from two reels (9) which run along the steel cable and are installed with their driving rollers in a welded tubular frame (10-12). The suspensions carry a cylindrical cage (4) consisting of two U-section rings joined together by eight spacing rods (18). Within the cage a passenger cabin is supported on eight rollers spaced at intervals of 45 degrees around the cylinder so that the force of gravity maintains the cabin in a horizontal position. The motors driving the cable car draw traction current from an overhead conductor alongside the cable.
