A sawtooth generator (1) contains a charge and discharge capacitor (C0) and generates a sawtooth voltage (KCO) symmetrical to a reference voltage (UO). A second sawtooth voltage (UC1) is generated by charging a capacitor (C1) by a load current (I1) until the negative edge of the rectangular discharge control voltage (UR1) has started the discharge. The capacitor is discharged by a discharge current until a threshold voltage is attained. A second capacitor (C2) is charged or discharged by a constant current (I3,I4) for a specified time period. The generation of a V-shaped correction current (IV) is used the second sawtooth voltage. USE/ADVANTAGE - For TV receiver or other video display appts.. Generation of sawtooth voltage at continuous frequency change. Total geometry of first sawtooth voltage waveform is not negatively influenced.
