The clutch consists of a piston (30) with a torsion damper (20) forming part of its equipment, and provided with a drive outlet part (24) that is solid with and rotates with the hub (9) and a drive inlet part (21). The piston contains on its periphery a series of formed projections (41), whilst the inlet part contains on its periphery a series of cut-outs (42) which mate with each other when the piston is in the engaged position to provide lock-up of the drive. USE/ADVANTAGE - As a lock-up clutch in a fluid flywheel coupling in a vehicle transmission. The form of the mating surfaces in the clutch unit prevents any wedging in between.
