PURPOSE:To provide the musical sound generating device which provides a monaural and a stereophonic musical performance with small musical sound waveform data and secures a large polyphonic number at the time of the monaural musical performance with regard to a musical sound generating device which generates a musical sound signal for the stereophonic musical performance. CONSTITUTION:This musical sound generating device consists of a 1st storage means 20a which stores waveform data on a musical sound consisting of the sum of a musical sound to be generated in right channel and a musical sound to be generated in a left channel, a 2nd storage means 20b which stores waveform data on a musical sound consisting of the difference between the musical sound to be generated in the right channel and the musical sound to be generated in the left channel, a musical sound signal generating means 21 which generates a sum musical sound signal on the basis of the waveform data stored in the 2nd storage means 20a and also generates a difference musical sound signal on the basis of the waveform data stored in the 2nd storage means 20b, an adding means 23a which finds the sum of the sum musical sound signal and difference musical sound signal generated by the musical sound signal generating means 21, and a subtracting means 23b which finds the difference between the sum musical sound signal and difference musical sound signal generated by the musical sound signal generating means 21. |
