PURPOSE:To establish an effective memory erasing method working effectively for an optical information processing element which can promissingly be used in various fields such as computational processing, visual information processing, neuro-computer, sensors, etc. CONSTITUTION:An optical information processing element includes a photo-electric transducing layer provided between two electrodes, at least either of which has light transmissivity, and a memory layer equipped with a function to enable the electro-conductivity varied due to a light having a certain wavelength to last even after the light is shut off, wherein the information processing element is heated to erase the memory condition where the photo-receiving sensitivity of the processing element is varied by photo-irradiation of a wavelength which changes the electro-conductivity of the memory layer. |
