A prefabricated section of sealing foil with edge closing battens is wound onto an unrolling cage. The cage is positioned above the wall ditch, and the sealing foil section is drawn by a traction device through the curtain wall material before it has set. The front of the lower end of the foil section is provided with a spacer, before it is drawn off. Before the ditch is filled with wall material, two loosely clamped blocking/guide bodies are positioned in the ditch section. The bodies grab the spacers on the sheeting to be inserted, and pulled off the elements after completion of the process.
