The device prevents a magpie nest, which often causes a fault of power distribution from being built on arms of a power line post. The device has a roof shaped like a half ruggby ball and suspended across sleeves fitted on bolts (3) connecting arms (2,2') on a post (1), the sleeves being slit-open in the whole length to have a cut-open ring section for slip-fitting over the bolts. The roof is reinforced with a panel attached crosswise to the underside in the middle of the roof. The device removes the space for nesting by a magpie or slips any pieces brought by magpies for nest building off the slippeny roof surface.
