<p>PURPOSE: To improve a highly accurate ion filter by adhering plural vertically divided parts which have an inner surface which can be produced with a grinding disk in a single direction and have a contacting surface to assemble a filter body. CONSTITUTION: The ion filter 10 comprises four identical parts 11, and its body is assembled by adhering corresponding contacting surfaces 12 which have concave and convex respectively such that they sandwich an electrical insulating piece. The parts 11 are slender solid contour-rods which have a hyperbola surface 14 whose cross section faces the inside center, the hyperbola surface has no undercut, the abutting surface 12 has concave or convex which is looked from the center, and they can be produced with one grinding disk in a single direction. Therefore, each part 11 can be manufactured within achievable size tolerance and measurement accuracy, and the mass spectrometer or the mass spectrometric ion filter 10 assembled using them is also accurate.</p> |
