The electric tubular resistance (3), by pivoting about an axis, connects to or disconnects from the electricity supply. One end (18) of the resistance element is fixed to a first connector (4,5) with a cylindrical surface split into insulating (16) and conducting (12) areas. A second connector (7), connected to the supply, is spring loaded onto the first connector surface, so that its electrical contact (15) is successively in contact with conducting or insulating areas, as the element pivots. The element may pivot from a horizontal operating position, to an oblique position non operating, with appropriate connector contacts. The connections may be enclosed by insulated housings (1,6), both housing and element being detachable. USE/ADVANTAGE - Barbecues, simple food reheating or grilling. Good protection, easy cleaning, allows several use positions.
