The regulator provides a DC voltage for regulating the frequency of the clock signal provided by the voltage-controlled oscillator, in dependence on the frequency of a second clock signal in a phase regulating loop using a phase comparator providing the phase difference between the two clock signals. The phase comparator provides two further digital pulse signals (X1,X2) representing the phase difference, respectively defining a charge and discharge level for two diodes (D10,D21), via which a capacitor (C6) is charged and discharged, the regulating voltage being obtained across the capacitor.
