<p>PURPOSE:To provide an excellent image forming method having excellent long- term stability so that images of high quality and good gradation can be obtd. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image carrier body is reverse-developed in a developing zone with an electrostatic charge image developer containing 100 pts.wt. insulating magnetic toner and 0.1-5 pts.wt. metal oxide powder. The surface of the developer carrier body 2 consists of a phenol resin containing conductive carbon and graphite. The nearest distance 1 (mum) between the electrostatic latent image carrier body 1 and the developer carrier body 2 is twice or smaller as thickness d of the developer layer 7 for electrostatic charge image development. An electrostatic latent image is reverse-developed with the electrostatic charge image developer under conditions of absolute value (¦Vpp¦) of the AC electric field Vpp applied ranging from 500 to 1000V, 150-500V VL of electrostatic latent image for the max. image density, and Vm/1=0-1.5, wherein Vm is the difference between ¦Vpp¦/2 and ¦VL¦.</p> |
