PURPOSE:To obtain a developed color image having continuous gradation and excellent in transparence and resolution by disposing a receiving layer made of a synthetic resin, which receives dyes transferred from a thermal transfer sheet, on an upper face of a base material and permitting an ultraviolet light absorber to be contained in the receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer receiving sheet 1 is used in combination A, with a thermal transfer sheet having a thermal transfer layer in which heat- transferable dyes are contained. Thermal energy, which is in response to an image signal, is applied by a thermal head or by a laser, whereby an image is formed on the sheet 1 with the heat-transferable dyes. In this case, the sheet 1 is constituted of a base material 2 and a receiving layer 3 made of a synthetic resin, which is disposed on the upper face of the base material 2 and by which the dyes transferred from the thermal transfer sheet are received. Further, an ultraviolet light absorber is contained in the receiving layer 3. Thus, it becomes possible to obtain a developed color image having continuous gradation and high transparence, and having sharpness and high resolution without causing any deterioration in the developed color image even in the case of keeping the sheet 1 for a long period of time. |
