PHENOL RESIN GEAR AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a gear made of a phenol resin excellent in abrasion resistance and durability at high temp. by selecting the reinforcing material of a gear constituting member. CONSTITUTION:A fabric consisting of two kinds of a polymethaphenylene isophthalamide fiber and a polyparaphenylene isophthalamide fiber is impregnated with an epoxy resin compounded phenol resin to be dried. This impregnated fabric 1 is cut into a parallelogrammatic shape and two kinds of cut pieces 2 are superposed one upon another to be heated on a hot plate to be softened and rolled into a rod shape along the long sides of a parallelogram and further rolled to superpose both ends of the rod shape to form an annular body 3. Two superposed annular bodies 3, a molding material 4 forming a web and a boss part and a metal bush 5 are received in a mold to be subjected to pressure molding under heating. The part constituted of the annular bodies 3 is subjected to gear cutting processing to form a gear.
