PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device which is thinner than specific thickness and has neither mechanical characteristics nor optical characteristics spoiled. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting plate 27 which is arranged on the reverse surface side of a light guide plate 26 is formed of an alumina plate obtained by forming a white reflective coating of acryl on the surface opposite the light guide plate 26 and has an about 90% reflection factor. This reflecting plate 27 is formed by pressing integrally covering the entire reverse surface of the light guide plate 26, the end surface of the light guide plate 26 except the part on the side of a light source 29, and the part of the light source 29. Angle steel 24 which is sectioned almost in a U shape fixes and holds the light guide plate 26, a diffusion plate 25, and a liquid crystal display panel 21, laminated in order, by sandwiching integrally with the reflecting plate 27. Thus, the reflecting plate 27 is provided with the white reflecting coating to obtain the optical characteristics, and the light guide plate 26, diffusion plate 25, and liquid crystal display panel 21 are sandwiched between the thin reflecting plate 27 and angle steel 24 to obtain the thickness and mechanical characteristics. |
