The rear housing (3) is divided by sepg. walls (23) into suction chambers (24) and an outlet chamber (25). In the valve plate (4) suction apertures (26) and outlet apertures (27) are formed at positions which correspond to the cylinder bores (8), and have a connection with the suction chambers and the outlet chamber. The suction and outlet apertures are provided with their respective valves (29,30). The suction valve and the outlet valve open and close their respective apertures (26,27) corresponding to the alternating movements of the piston (9). Additionally, the rear housing (3) is provided with control valves (31) which adjust the pressure in the crankcase. USE/ADVANTAGE - A compressor used in a road vehicle air conditioning plant, in which the upper free spaces of the piston are maintained equal in shape, and in which the torques, which result from the compression reaction forces, hardly influence the outlet capacity control.
