PURPOSE:To enhance an oil deterioration detecting accuracy by keeping an oil temperature in the vicinity of an electric resistance, which acts as an oil deterioration sensor, at a predetermined temperature range by means of a heating means so that the degree of corrosion of the electric resistance becomes variable in correspondence to the kind of acid substance produced, accompanying the oil deterioration. CONSTITUTION:This oil deterioration sensor 10 is manufactured by providing the surface of an insulating substrate 13 with a metallic film resistance 11 made up of a metal e.g. copper, which easily reacts to an acid produced, accompanying the oil deterioration. The insulating substrate 13 is firmly adhered to a housing 31 by means of adhesive 32 like an epoxy resin, while an heat insulating cover 33, which is made of stainless or the like and which has many small holes 331, is fixed to the lower part of the housing 31. In addition, a heater 34, which heats up the inside of the cover 33, and an oil temperature detector 35 are installed in the heat insulating cover 33. With this contrivance, the temperature in the vicinity of the electric resistance 11 can be kept at a temperature range which is suitable for detecting the oil deterioration. As a result, the oil deterioration can be detected accurately. |
